Mulch
Not
only does mulch provide a decorative, finished appearance to beds, it
also serves certain functional purposes. Mulching your plant beds
will drastically reduce the amount of time spent weeding, watering and
fighting pests. Mulch also prevents dirt from eroding and/or
splashing up on your flowers and vegetables when it rains.
Finally, during the Winter months, mulch provides a "warm
blanket" for your plants roots by regulating soil temperature.
