Dwarf Japanese Garden Juniper This dwarf form develops into a compact mat with branches on top of others, spreading out into sprays.  Needles in whorls of 3, linear-lanceolate, spiny-pointed, 6-8 mm long.  Foliage bluish-green, but may be slightly purplish in winter.

Tolerant of many soils, thrives under adverse conditions.  It is sometimes staked and grown as an attractive shrub with cascading branches.
